About this ebook

‘Full of twists and turns... You will be gripped... I just couldn't stop reading’ Reader review ★★★★★

‘Mind blowing’ Reader review ★★★★★

Her newborn baby is gone – and someone wants her to stop looking.

When Alys vanishes without a trace, Izzy Grant refuses to accept she's really gone.

Then a note slips through her door, warning her off. To Izzy, it’s a potential lead and a ray of hope. To DC Gaby Darin, it’s another piece of the puzzle that just won’t fit.

But when a long-lost friend returns to Izzy's life with a shocking secret, Gaby realises that the truth isn’t out there in the dark – it’s buried in Izzy’s past.

And whoever took her daughter might be closer than she thinks.

Gripping and unputdownable, this emotional thriller will have you racing through until the very last page. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott, and Joy Ellis.

Hands up, I don't normally read books about missing children but when I saw who the author was I had no hesitation in snapping this up! Izzy Grant faced a terrible tragedy in her life when her partner took their baby out in her car and just disappeared. Some years later something occurs which, when brought to the attention of the police allows the force to re-open the case, and finally gives Izzy reason to raise the hope she has never lost that her daughter will be safely returned to her. I've been a fan of Jenny O'Brien's since she first approached me in 2017 with a request to review one of her novels, so when I spotted her latest was due for release, I quickly pre-ordered it. This is the first chance I've had to fit Silent Cry into my list and what a tremendously gripping read it is! From the first page, this novel grabbed my attention and didn't let go until I got to the very end. Absolutely awesome! With a strong story line and crisp writing which flows seamlessly all the way through, I'm not surprised that this novel was snapped up by a publisher - and, best of all, it's the first in what promises to be a must-not-miss series! Exciting, thrilling, gripping and with an ending which I could not - even in my wildest dreams - have predicted, this is definitely worthy all five sparkling, glowing stars and the highest recommendation I can give!

About the author

Born in Dublin, Jenny O’Brien moved to Wales and then Guernsey, where she tries to find time to both read and write in between working as a nurse and ferrying around three teenagers.

In her spare time she can be found frowning at her wonky cakes and even wonkier breads. You'll be pleased to note she won't be entering Bake Off. She's also an all-year-round sea swimmer.
