I enjoyed this new "Texas Cattleman’s Club" story! It's a fairly quick read that is well written and very intriguing. I love the characters and the plot is nicely developed. Jack and Lexi have sparks flying between them. These two are from different worlds but find something in common. This is a good story about two people who have been hurt but find something special with each other. The story has some drama, meddling dad, off the charts chemistry, romance and good twist in this story.

Jack and Lexi come from very different worlds. On the surface, that should make them polar opposites, but they’ve had some similar experiences that have given them common ground. Both of them think they’re going to keep this relationship as friends, possibly with benefits. I’m sure all us readers realized that pipedream was never going to happen. I have read the book before this in the series, but I almost think it would have been better if I hadn’t. I came into this book with an image already in my head of who I thought Lexi was going to be and it took me a bit to re-orient to who she shows us she is. And I liked her a lot better than I thought I was going to. Jack may have just become my new gold standard for #relationshipgoals. He has the chivalry of a medieval knight and that absolutely made me swoon. Now I’m curious to find out about the rest of the characters in the background of this book. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.

While the storyline is generic to many romances, I loved that there were no tragic circumstances bring them together and as older characters were settled with their life and what has been dealt to date. Wondering if the other characters will get their own stories being so closely intertwined with the leads in this story. Great read and highly recommended to all lovers of romance. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

About the author

Karen Booth is a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on '80s music and way too many readings of “Forever” by Judy Blume. Married to her real-life Jake Ryan, she has two amazing kids with epic hair, a very bratty cat, and loves getting up before dawn to write romance. With plenty of sparks.
