About this ebook

Ava is tired of her ultracool attitude, ultraradical politics, and ultrablack clothing. She's ready to try something new—she's even ready to be someone new. Someone who fits in, someone with a gorgeous boyfriend, someone who wears pink.

But Ava soon finds that changing herself is more complicated than changing her wardrobe. Even getting involved in the school musical raises issues she never imagined. As she faces surprising choices and unforeseen consequences, Ava wonders if she will ever figure out who she really wants to be.

Pink received an American Library Association Stonewall Award Honor for exceptional merit relating to the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender experience.

  • Found Family: She expected to fit in with the popular crowd, but finds an unexpected home among the "Screws"—the quirky, loyal, and endlessly entertaining stage crew she joins after her singing debut bombs.

This is less a book and more a series of fake "and everyone clapped" posts. It reads like a 14 year old explaining why her clique (who all wear similar clothes and have the same interests) are different from other cliques because they're not all clones! The fact that an adult wrote this is embarrassing. The author should be embarrassed. She somehow never developed past high school. She does not write characters; she writes blank mouthpieces for her own opinions and homophobic strawmen (or should I say strawwomyn?). She does not write plots; she writes teenage debate fantasies. Several of her characters could have been combined into one or completely removed because they added nothing to the plot. I lost IQ points reading this.
