The Deal

Ever since my life disintegrated three years ago, my appearances at the offices of the London-based luxury hotel chain I run with my brothers, are sporadic at best. The growth of our family business is no longer of interest to me. I work when I want, control what I can and avoid triggers at any cost. If sex was a solo sport, I’d have no need to interact with others whatsoever. Which is why I’m desperate to get rid of the distracting and inconveniently striking filmmaker, Mia Abbott, who’s part of my job for the next three weeks.

Mia never backs down from a challenge, which is exactly how she sees me. It’s as if emotionally unavailable widowers only interested in casual sex are exactly her type. If I can’t fire her, the only way to manage all this chemistry between us is with a hookup deal. She gets full creative direction of the promotional film she’s making for Faulkner Hotels, and me…? I temporarily get Mia in my bed. There’s only one rule, a rule we’re both keen to stipulate: no feelings.
