Kristyn Earl is a travel writer, sustainability consultant, and the founder of The Conscious Journey, a platform dedicated to helping travelers reduce their environmental impact without sacrificing the joy of exploration. Over the past fifteen years, she has visited more than fifty countries, working with local tourism boards, conservation organizations, and community cooperatives to document best practices in sustainable tourism development.
Her writing has appeared in *Outside*, *AFAR*, *National Geographic Traveler*, and *The Guardian's Travel section*, where she covers topics ranging from regenerative travel in the Amazon basin to urban cycling initiatives in Copenhagen. She has served as a sustainability advisor for several boutique hotel groups and tour operators, helping them design guest experiences that prioritize environmental stewardship and community benefit.
Kristyn holds a Master's degree in Sustainable Tourism Management from the University of British Columbia and serves on the advisory board of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council. She lives in Portland, Oregon, with her partner and two rescue dogs, and she has maintained a personal commitment to taking no more than one flight per year since 2019. When not on the road, she teaches workshops on low-impact travel through local community centers and leads volunteer trail restoration projects in the Pacific Northwest. *The Sustainable Traveler* is her first book.
