Set in the time of the Shah, this is a heart-warming picture of the Iranian people who befriend, guide, love, and laugh at Marco, the naive foreigner whose love for Mastaneh seems hopeless and doomed.
Rea Keech taught English at the University of Tehran from 1967 to 1969. He says he wrote A Hundred Veils as a tribute to the warmth, humor, and love of the Iranian people he came to know. He is the author of several other works which have not been published and now lives in a small house near the Severn River in Maryland, occasionally taking his small boat out for a sail.
