A world-ending meteor. An invasion of monsters. A desperate fight for survival...

Alex Keener has lived all of his sixteen years in Bunker 108. He's walked the same metal halls, seen the same faces, has followed the same rules. All that changes when a viral outbreak forces him to flee the safety of his bunker.

Outside, he discovers a barren world twisted by the impact of the meteor Ragnarok thirty years ago. Alone, he must wander a brutal landscape, where every breath is a fight for survival. Monsters haunt the planet's surface, and nothing of the old world remains.

Can Alex survive this hellish wasteland, or will he become its newest victim?

I started to dislike the main character because he was so forgetful and unlucky with his equipment. I found that the main character too often found all sorts of loot then conveniently forgot, lost or had blown up these very valuable goods. First he forgets his bag, then he rushes out of a mountain fortress and forgets his bag, he is ambushed and has his stuff taken away from him. Too much of this in the novel for my taste. It made me stop reading what otherwise might have been a good series. If this was a roleplaying game I would lose my mind that the GM was doing this to me.

I've listened to it twice. the author is young and has good Instincts about how and why people behave, there are a few consistency mistakes referring to past actions and a couple of emotional situations where he's painting some of his characters inconsistently. but his plot ideas and the general premise are good I've read it twice(although I use the read aloud function often, my eyesight fails sometimes. for such a young writer he is very Astute about situational emotions and motivational feelings how they come about how they are assuaged. it's YA post apocalyptic sci-fi but it is very well conceived and fresh. I'm going to read much more of me. West's Books. Maybe he'll do something more aimed at us old educated and opinionated Gaffer's. Thank you Mr West

This is a complete Fallout rip off, and the author's not even trying to hide it. I let it slide for a while, but when I read the bit about 5 gangs fighting for control of Vegas I gave up. If you read on you'll probably get introduced to the brotherhood of steel and bump into Three Dog.
