About this ebook

The chilling tale of the undead in a galaxy far, far away.

“This is the Star Wars of every horror fan’s dreams—gory, funny, and brimming with a blood-spattered cast of swashbucklers and space-zombies.”—Seth Grahame-Smith, author of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies

When the Imperial prison barge Purge—temporary home to five hundred of the galaxy’s most ruthless killers, Rebels, scoundrels, and thieves—breaks down in a distant part of space, its only hope appears to lie with a Star Destroyer found drifting and seemingly abandoned. But when a boarding party from the Purge is sent to scavenge for parts, only half of them come back—bringing with them a horrific disease so lethal that within hours, nearly all aboard the Purge die in ways too hideous to imagine.

And death is only the beginning.

The Purge’s half-dozen survivors will do whatever it takes to stay alive. But nothing can prepare them for what lies waiting aboard the Star Destroyer. For the dead are rising: soulless, unstoppable, and unspeakably hungry.

So, this book has a bit of a mythos surrounding it. Having read it now, I'm...disappointed. I think the book, from a technical standpoint, is written very well. The concept of it has promise. But the actual plot and execution feel lacking. It just feels... rushed, particularly in the last half or last third, and almost disjointed. It's just really weird, and doesnt fit in well with actual star wars, due to main character(s) being included. If this was the original Thrawn trilogy, which has its own mythos and I was also disappointed by, I could see why due to the age of the series, but this came out in 2009. In rebuttal, I have seen the god awful clone wars comics thay came out a few years beforehand...Anyway, my verdict is a good sale (50%-ish) would have left me satisfied with this purchase, but otherwise its too short when combined with the other things described above.

I would definitely recommend this book to any fan of Star Wars or sci-fi in general, as it does not require much knowledge about the back story of the characters to be appreciated. Defo worth the money just don't read the summary of the book as it spoils almost everything.

I didn't like the author's diction, which felt a little lazy and out of place for a Star Wars novel, but I did enjoy the story
