These stories go beyond stereotypes and statistics. They highlight the love for family, the importance of culture, and the courage it takes to live between two worlds. From quiet acts of bravery to life-changing decisions, every voice in this book reminds us that immigration is not just a move, it is a deeply human experience.
This book is for anyone who has ever left something behind, searched for belonging, or wanted to better understand the lives behind immigrant stories. Every journey is different, but all are connected by resilience, love, and hope.
Stories of Us was created and edited by Samira Puente as a community storytelling project celebrating the voices of immigrants and their families. Inspired by her own journey from Cuba to the United States, Samira created this project to preserve stories that are often overlooked and to encourage empathy through personal experiences. She hopes this book reminds readers that every person carries a story worth hearing.
