About this ebook

Seven late cases and the title story, in which Holmes spends two years in America growing a goatee to catch a German spy on the eve of the war. Thirty-four plates of painting from 1833 to 1928, among them William Logsdail and George Clausen, carry the weather of the period across these last cases.
