This book was adapted into a movie in 1953. Starring Charlton Heston and Susan Hayward playing Andrew Jackson and Rachel Donaldson Jackson(Robards by her 1st marriage). Entitled "The Presidents Lady" the same name as the book. Rachel is the most maligned woman in American history . It's truly heartbreaking. Great book great movie. Worth reading worth watching.

I felt so sorry for Mrs. Jackson. She was a strong and beautiful woman for her time.
