About this ebook

From a bestselling author, an “incendiary and uproarious” assault on the pretensions of scientific atheists (National Review)

Militant atheism is on the rise. Prominent thinkers including Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Daniel Dennett, and Christopher Hitchens have published best-selling books denigrating religious belief. And these authors are merely the leading edge of a larger movement that includes much of the scientific community. In response, mathematician David Berlinski, himself a secular Jew, delivers a biting defense of religious thought. The Devil's Delusion is a brilliant, incisive, and funny book that explores the limits of science and the pretensions of those who insist it is the ultimate touchstone for understanding our world.

I read the first chapter and some of the second. Frankly it was all I could stomach. Berlinsky seems to rely on a mix of slander, purposefully or inadvertently misunderstood science, cherry picked quotes, and circular arguments. It is truly sad that many people will read this book first before ever learning about the exciting real science being undertaken by honest hardworking academics.

You can't disprove fact with glorified ignorance. Give e me one argument for religiosity that doesn't involve an assumed conclusion. One. Just one

People are convinced what they are told is scientific fact when it is really nothing more than speculation, assuming facts not in evidence. This is an excellent read for anyone that can think.
