About this ebook

About the author

Dmitry Merezhkovsky was a Russian novelist, poet and religious philosopher, a founder of Russian Symbolism, nominated for the Nobel Prize nine times. His trilogy Christ and Antichrist set Julian the Apostate, Leonardo and Peter the Great against one another as figures in a single argument about faith. He fled the Bolsheviks in 1919 and died in Paris, having compromised himself by courting the fascist powers against them.
