First the bad. There are a couple of places in the story that tend to ramble. This seems to be a Kristen Ashley trait as she loves to give great detail information about the surroundings of her characters. So even though I list it as bad, it is also good. You easily visualize the surroundings and the supporting characters in each story of hers you read. Lexie and Ty are awesome characters and you are immediately drawn into their story. The suspense in this one is well depicted and has some great tense moments. However, I felt there were some crucial moments that were a bit rushed and other areas that could have been sped up. This is my reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. There is loads of snark and attitude. I love the words that come out of Lexie's mouth. Here is one of my favorites. “Ty, it comes down to it, I’ll be lying to dirty cops, and everyone knows a double negative is a positive.” There is also plenty of adult steamy romance. Lexie and Ty set the pages on fire. It's official. I am addicted to Kristen Ashley books.

Once again, I'm totally blown away by a spellbinding romantic suspense story written by the incomparable Kristen Ashley! Lexie and Ty are so incredibly real, achingly vulnerable, and each are the other's heart felt salvation. This is a must read from cover to cover for all lovers of great storytelling and a guaranteed future go to favorite for me.

Some stories sucker punch you in the gut and you become emotionally invested in the happiness of the couple. This was that story! Lexie and Ty faced such adversity all their lives, yet, they end up surrounded by love and support. The hits don’t stop though, and as hopeful and optimistic as they try, things keep going off the rails for them. They have an unexpected beginning, but they connect immediately. Keeping that up takes trust, and that takes time, and they have their troubles with that. There is pain in their story, there are hurdles in their story, there are really bad, bad, bad guys in their story. They don’t give up though, they make that their motto and it works for them so well. Lady Luck, who they thought they had some times, and abandoned by at others, comes through for them when it really matters. Rarely does an HEA bring me to tears by simply happening, but Lexie and Ty’s did <3
