About this ebook

She thought she knew the woman living next door. She was dead wrong.

Back in the eighties, Ginger had everything that mattered. The big hair, the even bigger shoulder pads, but most importantly her son. Until the night he vanished from the beach without a trace.

After that, Ginger became a ghost of her former self until her next-door neighbor, Tara, came along. They baked. They gossiped. And they trusted each other completely. But Tara didn't know Ginger hid an unspeakable truth about her son’s disappearance.

Then one night a scream set off a deadly chain of events.

When Tara rushed next door, she saw something she could never unsee. Ginger stood over a lifeless body. But even more terrifying? Tara's husband was locked behind bars for a murder she couldn’t believe he committed. To save the man she loved, she faced an impossible choice:

Let her husband take the fall, or risk her life to expose the dark, twisted secret Ginger had been hiding.

Little did she know someone would ultimately pay the price for Ginger’s past…and it would be someone she least expected.

So the series seems intriguing, but the nostalgia is way overboard. It reads like someone wanted write a book that took place in the 80's/90's, but only read about the era. It's too much and is making the whole thing tedious. I purchased as a bundle with 3 others. I was able to tolerate the "prequel", but I cannot get passed chapter 7 in this one. I am not even going to try the last two. Stick to plot, character development and worry less about what the it things were at that time.

I could not even finish this book. The characters are completely unlikeable and I'm so dizzy from seeing all of those unnecessary 80s references. I expected better from this particular author but this was just underwhelming.

This book kept me interested. I finished it in two sittings. The story was intriguing but sometimes I felt like there were too many twists. I love thrillers so this was a good read overall.

About the author

To know PAMELA CRANE, you first need to know her husband. He sleeps with one eye open. He checks the knife block to make sure none are missing. Why? It could be because they have four kids and a farm full of mischievous animals. Or it could be because she writes murder mysteries, and about the occasional woman who has lost her marbles (not based on her real-life psyche, she swears!). Don't worry--her husband is safe...for now. Her books range from witty whodunnits to psychological suspense and even humorous women's fiction thrown in for good measure. She's a USA TODAY bestselling author of over a dozen novels (who's counting?), but her biggest accomplishment is keeping her zoo of animals alive...and her husband in check.
