Although well written and well imagined, I was disappointed with this series. It's 5 stand alone stories, and only the final volume ties them together. I bought the 2nd and subsequent books because I liked a couple of characters in the 1st book and was looking forward to getting to know them better. Alas, their part was done. This style of series will suit some, but I like a deeper dive.
