About this ebook

This book is a synthetic harmony of the gospels. One writer’s words are inserted into another writer’s narrative to produce a longer narrative with more details that is not exactly like either writer’s original story. The result is a single story of the life of Jesus.

The focus is on the narrative, so verse markings are only in section headings because they can be distracting. The words of each gospel are given in a different font so that the reader can see where each piece of text comes from without much distraction. Only minor footnotes are used to describe ancient measurements or give the Old Testament reference for quotes. The Bible text is from the World English Bible.

About the author

I am a teacher in a Christian high school. I started this project because every year when I teach, I read one of the gospels for worship at the beginning of class. Recently, it struck me how often each gospel missed details found in other gospels. I was interested in having all the details of each story in a single narrative. Thus, this project began.
