About this ebook

In the kingdom of Ironwall, crowns are not inherited — they are survived.

When King Edric I dies under the weight of secrets buried deeper than the throne itself, his nineteen-year-old son, Edric II, is forced to ascend the Thorn Throne. But power in Ironwall is never simple. It is built on blood, enforced by law, and protected by silence.

Inside the walls of Ironwall Keep, loyalty is already breaking.

Noble houses begin to shift in the dark, alliances form without consent, and whispers spread through the court faster than any decree. The queen becomes a figure of growing suspicion. The king’s closest protectors begin to fracture. And at the center of it all is a dangerous question no one dares to answer aloud — what is the truth behind Edric’s bloodline?

As political tension rises, the kingdom transforms into a battlefield of influence, where truth is negotiated, not revealed, and every decision carries consequences that reshape the future of Ironwall.

Edric must learn quickly that ruling a kingdom is not about justice — it is about control, perception, and survival. But in a court where everyone is watching, even silence becomes a weapon.

Thorn Crown is a dark, emotionally charged political fantasy filled with royal intrigue, betrayal, hidden lineage, court conspiracies, and the brutal cost of power.

What surprised me most was how heavy and real Ironwall felt. The throne room, the laws, the noble houses — everything had this cold atmosphere that made the kingdom feel alive. It reads like a dark fantasy history book in the best way possible.

Omg I came expecting fantasy battles, but stayed for the characters and court politics. Thorn Crown feels brutal without trying too hard. There’s this constant feeling that nobody can truly trust each other.

About the author

Linda Pine used to work two jobs just to keep the lights on in her small bungalow. In the morning she cleaned offices, and in the evening she worked the register at a burger shop. It wasn’t the life she dreamed of, but it was honest work, and she was doing it for her baby.

Things were hard, but they were steady. She had a roof over her head, a little garden out back where she grew tomatoes, and a husband who promised he’d stay. Then she got pregnant. After the baby was born, she tried to go back to the burger shop. Some days she was late because the baby wouldn’t stop crying or wouldn’t feed. Her manager didn’t care. One morning he told her not to come back.

A few weeks after she lost that job, her husband packed a bag and left her for another woman. He took most of the money and left her with an empty house and a crying child.

For a long time Linda thought that was the end of her. The nights were quiet and cold, and she had no one to talk to except her baby. So she started writing in an old notebook she found in the kitchen drawer. At first it was just anger and tears on the page. Then it became stories — stories about people who lost everything but still found a reason to stand up again.

THORN CROWN is her first book. It comes from a place of real pain, but also from the stubborn hope that you can rebuild your life even when it feels like there’s nothing left. Linda still lives in that same bungalow by the coast. She has less than she used to, but she has her child, her garden, and her words.
