Eunice Murphy writes near-future science fiction about the working people of the outer solar system: couriers, dock crews, engineers, and the smugglers the history books will somehow forget. Before turning to fiction, she spent more than a decade in logistics — freight planning, customs documentation, and route design — an apprenticeship that left her obsessed with manifests, mass budgets, and the precise paperwork that separates a legal delivery from a federal case. She likes to say that a smuggler is just a logistical problem nobody filed the forms for. *Belt Runners* is her first novel, and it grew directly out of that background, along with a long love affair with the moons, rocks, and numbers of the real asteroid belt. Her short fiction has appeared in genre anthologies and online magazines. She lives in Dublin, where she is at work on her next novel, and she can be reached through her website, where she also publishes a small newsletter sharing the real science behind her fiction.
