About this ebook

Author Dan Wells is back with the sequel to the sci-fi blockbuster Partials, which Pittacus Lore called a "thrilling sci-fi adrenaline rush, with one of the most compelling and frightening visions of Earth's future I've seen yet."

After discovering the cure for RM, Kira Walker sets off on a terrifying journey into the ruins of postapocalyptic America and the darkest desires of her heart in order to uncover the means—and a reason—for humanity's survival.

Dan Wells extends his richly imagined, gritty world and introduces new memorable characters in this second installment in the Partials Sequence.

The cure was only the beginning. Now Kira’s quest for answers will take her from the ruins of Manhattan to the heart of a dying continent.

  • YA Science Fiction Adventure: Kira's journey is far from over. Her search for the truth behind the Partials and the plague will lead her across the haunting ruins of a shattered America.
  • Secrets and Lies: The more Kira learns about ParaGen, the company that created the Partials, the more she questions her own identity and the loyalty of those closest to her—including the Partial soldier, Samm, who travels by her side.
  • A Dying Race: While humanity struggles to survive, the Partials face their own extinction from a built-in expiration date. Can Kira find a way to save both species before it’s too late?
  • Enemies to Allies: Forced to rely on Samm, a soldier from the army that destroyed the world, Kira must navigate a fragile and dangerous alliance that could blossom into something more... or shatter into betrayal.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole series and the accompanying short. I am tired of all the good books that gets rushed into trilogies, and by the last book you feel like the author didn't even know what the series was about... But this trilogy, was a masterpiece of science fictional that also is a wonderfully crafted social commentary, of human needs and the way we 'are', and .. Perhaps... The way we should be. I am thankful to the author that I was able to read such a great series.
