About this ebook

Lose weight, boost your metabolism, and start living a happier life with this transformative 30-day plan for healthy eating from the host of the hit podcast The Model Health Show.
Food is complicated. It's a key controller of our state of health or disease. It's a social centerpiece for the most important moments of our lives. It's the building block that creates our brain, enabling us to have thought, feeling, and emotion. It's the very stuff that makes up our bodies and what we see looking back at us in the mirror. Food isn't just food. It's the thing that makes us who we are. So why does figuring out what to eat feel so overwhelming?
In Eat Smarter, nutritionist, bestselling author, and #1-ranked podcast host Shawn Stevenson breaks down the science of food with a 30-day program to help you lose weight, reboot your metabolism and hormones, and improve your brain function. Most importantly, he explains how changing what you eat can transform your life by affecting your ability to make money, sleep better, maintain relationships, and be happier. Eat Smarter will empower you and make you feel inspired about your food choices, not just because of the impact they have on your weight, but because the right foods can help make you the best version of yourself.

An excellent guide that contains a lot of information on the human body, nutrition and what foods actually do for us, physically, mentally and socialy. There is also a detailed section about intermittent fasting which seems to be supported by some evidence and refuted by other studies. One of the most important things he emphasises is that the best meal and excersise plans are the ones that you will actually stick to, rather than attempt an overly-ambitious plan and stop it after a short time.

I can't get through this book. I know metaphors are his thing, and all, but the pop culture references are just too much They're an unnecrssary distraction from what I'm sure is otherwise a thoroughly researched treatise on healthy eating. I'm always so impressed with his knowledge, but this delivery style is just not for me.

Jam packed with so much compelling, interesting information and legitimate studies to support that info. It's clear that a lot of time was invested in researching and personally testing things. Nutritional science is one of the least understood fields of science by the general public. Disturbingly enough, that's not by accident. For decades, huge food companies have had unchecked control over what "scientific" information regarding nutrition reaches your eyes and ears. It also doesn't help that our own government is complicit and aids in the deception. Even higher education nutrition courses are filled with information that simply can't all be trusted. Now that the internet exists and is widely used, that's all being exposed by people who genuinely want to help others; people who ACTUALLY care about finding the truth. If you're not sure about what to believe anymore when it comes to food, then this book is for you. One con: The info is, at times, not well organized.
