Das Pfarramt nimmt eine Schlüsselstellung in der Organisation des kirchlichen Alltags ein, aber in den letzten Jahrzehnten sind seine institutionsspezifischen Belastungen durch den gesellschaftlichen Wandel erheblich gewachsen. Dennoch gibt es bisher keine methodisch gesicherten empirischen Erhebungen darüber, wie diese Situation von den Pfarrerinnen und Pfarrern wahrgenommen wird. Diese Studie nun stellt eine mit Methoden der qualitativen sozialwissenschaftlichen Forschung arbeitende Untersuchung über die "Innenansichten" vor, die die Interviewten von ihrer Pfarramtsrealität haben. Die Ergebnisse basieren auf einer methodisch aufwändigen Analyse von 26 narrativen Interviews. In ihnen kommen Pfarrerinnen und Pfarrer unterschiedlichen Alters aus Stadt und Land zu Wort, die Auskunft über die elementaren Strukturen ihres aktuellen Berufsverständnisses geben. Begleitende Aufsätze des Forschungsteams , das aus Sozialwissenschaftlern und Theologen besteht, interpretieren und vergleichen die Ergebnisse der Auswertung dieser Interviews und stellen sie in einen soziologischen und theologischen Kontext. [Inner Views. On the Professional Handling of Religion in Parish Ministry] The parish ministry has a key role regarding the organisation of everyday ecclesial life. Its challenges have increased strongly in the last decades due to religious and specifically institutional demands in the context of social change. It is surprising that there exists so far no methodically secure empirical insight how pastors perceive this situation. This volume presents a qualitative social science research project on the "inner views" of the interviewed persons regarding their parish ministry reality. The results are based on the methodically elaborate analysis of 26 narrative interviews. Pastors of different ages from rural and urban areas give access to the elementary structures of their present understanding of vocation. Accompanying articles by the research team, comprising social scientists and theologians, discuss and analyze the results of theses interviews and put it in a sociological and theological context.
