About this ebook

He’s uncovered a long-held family secret. She’s shocked to learn the truth—and to find herself caught between love and loyalty …

Colin Delaney’s wealthy family has been a Central Coast fixture for generations. When the Delaneys are rocked by the sudden death of Colin’s uncle, a shareholder in the family fortune, Colin learns something that throws all he'd thought he knew about the man into question.

Julia McCray knows that her brother, Drew, has been hiding something that’s been tearing him apart. The day Colin turns up on Julia’s doorstep, he reveals a secret that will throw both her world and his into turmoil. Her growing feelings for Colin are decidedly inconvenient—and will test her allegiance to her own family.

A Long, Cool Rain is the first book in the Delaneys of Cambria series. It can also be enjoyed as a stand-alone romance, with an HEA an no cliffhangers.

The storyline is interesting. However, I am finding the story telling boring. I don't have that "can't hurry up so I can read" moments. Sorry, just not enough pizzaz for me.

Substance, this story has it. Angst, realities of life interspersed with humor. Colin met Julia when the guy's uncle died and left a will leaving most of his properties to his only son, Julia's brother. A product of an affair between her mother and his uncle, secretly acknowledged but publicly hidden in avoidance of some parties getting hurt. It was a neatly, perfectly woven tale of anguished, grief, forgiveness and acceptance with certain bits of humor from the main and side characters specifically Julia's friend Mike, their conversations are noteworthy, as they navigate through their dilemma. And there was Liam's issues all throughout the book, he sure was one angry man, imagine taking out his anger in a public restaurant like they were at home, he is like this immature, angry toddler who lives in one tantrum after the other. But his issues is tackled maybe in another story another book. Kudos to the writer, who delivered well.
