About this ebook

Vampire Henry Sturges returns in the sequel to the New York Times bestseller Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter —an alternate history of 20th-century America.

"The combination of history and horror in The Last American Vampire makes you feel like it's the real thing. I've always enjoyed Seth's mixture of humor, emotions, and believability." —Tim Burton

In Reconstruction-era America, vampire Henry Sturges is searching for renewed purpose in the wake of his friend Abraham Lincoln's shocking death. Henry's will be an expansive journey that first sends him to England for an unexpected encounter with Jack the Ripper, then to New York City for the birth of a new American century, the dawn of the electric era of Tesla and Edison, and the blazing disaster of the 1937 Hindenburg crash.

Along the way, Henry goes on the road in a Kerouac-influenced trip as Seth Grahame-Smith ingeniously waves vampire history through Russia's October Revolution, the First and Second World Wars, and the JFK assassination.

"Gorily fun." — People

"History buffs with a sense of humor and an unslaked thirst for the macabre will find much to savor in The Last American Vampire . . . A surprisingly funny, antic sequel that's like a delicious mash-up of the Web series Drunk History and the gothic 1960s soap opera Dark Shadows ." — Washington Post

There is at least 2 3 books within this one. Too much was crammed into it. By the middle of the book you knew what was coming. I loved his other one but this just didn't do it for me

I saw the movie of the of the first book Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter so I decided to read this sequel out of curiosity. I was amazed at its vivid correlation to american history! I found myself going to google quite a few times to verify the accuracy of names and time frames! Amazing storytelling!!! I will definitely be reading Zombies and Unholy Nights

Two of the best books I have ever read. Had to own both! Seth writes so fluidly, never missing a beat. He incorporates the truth with fiction so fluently that it is hard to tell if the history is the truth, or if what he writes is, in vampire hunter, and his subtle insertions of zombie attacks and the skills of the sisters in pride and prejudice are written so well together it's like reading jane Austen 's version only a bit more up-beat and interesting. All done without distorting their original integrity.
