About this ebook
Acclaimed author Sam Sykes returns with a brilliant new epic fantasy that introduces an unforgettable outcast mage caught between two warring empires.
Her magic was stolen. She was left for dead.
Betrayed by those she trusts most and her magic ripped from her, all Sal the Cacophony has left is her name, her story, and the weapon she used to carve both. But she has a will stronger than magic, and knows exactly where to go.
The Scar, a land torn between powerful empires, where rogue mages go to disappear, disgraced soldiers go to die and Sal went with a blade, a gun, and a list of seven names.
Revenge will be its own reward.

Very cool. I love the magic barter system. Great nod to Chocobos. Very fun story. Not afraid to be a bit vulgar. Awesome character names. I just love this book and can't wait for the next one to come out.

The writing in this novel is so well done, the scenes come to life so easily, and the characters are so full of life and personality. I love the pacing of this book, and how it doesn't throw everything at you at the very beginning but shows you through the novel. This book made Sam Sykes my favorite author! I'm so excited to read not only the series but the one shots too! Worth the read!

This novel is absolutely one of the greatest pieces of fiction i have read in years. 100% recommend it to anybody who enjoys a good revenge tale. Or magic. Or birds. Or fighting. Or sass.
