I passed the actual CLEP exam on the first try just by reading this book once and then taking the practice exams twice and reviewing items I got wrong three times. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because although I went into the exam with 100% confidence that I would score well enough to pass, once I saw the questions, my confidence quickly dropped. The questions were so much more difficult than what I experienced on the practice exams that I had absolutely no sense of whether I passed or failed. There was also material on the test that I questioned whether or not was covered in the book (can't be totally sure having only read the book once). I felt like I passed more because of good guessing than good preparation and that the outcome could have gone either way because I was only a few points away from not making the cut. What would make this 5 stars for me is if they threw in maybe 10 questions on each practice exam that were more inline with the difficultly level one would see on the actual exam. I think I would have been more prepared were that the case. But guessing or not, I did pass on the first try studying solely from this material.
