About this ebook

A faceless corpse, two long-unsolved cases, and a silent Yorkshire village draw Chief Inspector Alan Banks into a gripping British police procedural that sends him across the Atlantic in pursuit of a killer.

When a faceless body is found in a tranquil valley just south of the Yorkshire village of Swainshead, Chief Inspector Alan Banks soon discovers that no one is willing to talk about it, except to say, “Not again.” An unsolved murder from five years before and the disappearance of a prominent local man’s girlfriend appear to be connected.

As Banks delves deeper into the cold-case mystery, someone begins to intentionally obstruct his investigation. When events take a turn, Banks must pursue a killer across the Atlantic and find a break in the case before time runs out.

The fourth book in the critically acclaimed Inspector Banks Mystery Series, The Hanging Valley is a compelling British police procedural about buried secrets, village loyalties, and murder.

Death is scheduled on the calendar; not interrupting anyone too much, creating volunteer charity work to do. Solving various problems at crime scenes and tying up loose ends in the days afterward. The victim is always the area the crime scenes are in; the deceased has a first & last name. Money is a bit separate from area company supply stores; therefore, is directly applied to a person's worth. The calendar is first priority set by companies for their supplies and employee schedule; money is for worth. Emotional language is reserved for the weather and never agrees well with characters. It usually their scene and they want to use their words for the area; weather ones just don't fit. They always lose their argument.
