About this ebook

Although each novel of the series may be read alone, in order to be understood in any depth it must be real in sequence with the other novels in the series. I designed it all as a whole. Novels One and Two track the progress of the SMRomance of the lifemates, Bart and Gareth, who although true fiction, are based in the core of their relationship on myself and the thiry-years house-partner and Best-Mate. THE AUSSIE'S SPARTAN-GAMES and WE WON'T DIE WONDERING must be read in sequence to see that they form a BDFM Romance-if by-that one means they lived happily in love ever after, then that is what it is. However, if one demands vanilla-die with mild totuture-foreplay as an apetizer, then it is not a romance. Bart and Gareth are also central to both Novel Five, DAN ERICSON: NORWEGIAN COP, and the unfinished and unprinted dialogue-novel TWILIGHT CONVERSATIONS ON KAUAI. In AUSSIE and WE, Gareth often adds wild fantasies to their Dungeon scenes. I have imagined when the two lovers turned to celebacy my character Bart, or Michael Barton Bauerdorg, became the author of three fantasies in memory in Gareth's torture-with-fantsies and to give expression to Bart's own darkest fantasies: ROMAN-DEATH OF A GREEK-SLAVE; A CATTLE-STATION FAGGOT, and MUTILATONS. ROMAN is an obvious one for a Professor of Classics to begin his fantasy-authorship. When the realistic AUSSIE and We are read with the fantasies, it will be be clear that the fantasies are wish-fulfillments through imagination; it should be clear that had circumstances presented itself, Bart might have in-the-flesh been anyone of the maso-protagonists of his three fantasies; indeed, Gareth sees this darkside of Bartie and had reason to fear it for Bart but also for himself, considering that the Texan had not a S-bit in it his libido. The sequencing of the novels in the series is not just for plot-evolution or character-revelation, it is also for the reader's benefit. My ideal rhythm in my own former SadoDungeonPlay was a mixture of moments of quiet between moments of intensity.

About the author

Sean McFirnn left his native Australia at eighteen to attend university and to have his career in the USA. This was not for lack of love for his native-land, yet, in mid-century, his countrymen's backward-view of Male-Male Love, especially BDSM, made his life unbearable. The US was itself no BDSM Utopia, so he made the decision to become an American-citizen and to change his name so that no word of a potential arrest in a gay-bar would get back to his very religious family. 'I wanted,' says Sean, 'complete freedom to be myself and take my consequences by myself. I was after-a-fashion born again' The feared arrest did not happen. Life opened up with the 1970s. He had a long successful career and also had many BDSM experiences in America and some in Europe. Now retired and living in relative isolation in the rainforests of Kuai, Sean has set out to write novels showing Aussies that their cult of Mateship can exist side-by-side with consensual, healthy, and sane BDSM relationships. In intention at-least, he has sought to offer by-way-of thanks to the BDSM world, this: he seeks to sketch BDSM in its psychological and philosophical complexity--and to do so in a very personal prose-style. Yeah-look, mates, it is only a sketch, but it was made with love.
