This was a very interesting story. It kept you on the edge of your seat and wondering what was going to happen next. This is the first I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be the last. I will definitely be looking for more of his stories. If you enjoy mystery, horror, and suspense I think you will enjoy this story. I received an ARC from NetGallery and I’m leaving an honest and voluntary review.

Whoa! This was not what I was expecting. I loved the relationship struggles, the love, the pain, and the mystery of what was happening, what might have happened in the past, and what was real or imagined. Then things got darker and crazier, taking me into a whole new world. I read the book first, then listened to the audiobook. Matt Godfrey and Zura Johnson brought this strange, disturbing, emotional story to life in a way that made the darker moments hit differently.

MICHAEL WEHUNT is the Bram Stoker Award–winning author of The October Film Haunt. He has also been a finalist for multiple Shirley Jackson Awards and was shortlisted for the International Association for the Fantastic in the Arts’ Crawford Award. In Spain, his stories have garnered nominations for the Premio Ignotus and Premio Amaltea, winning the latter. He haunts the woods outside Atlanta with his partner and their dog.
