Smashed Avocado Secret

Erin Price has built a life worth keeping in Bald Eagle Falls: a thriving gluten-free bakery, loyal friends, and a place to belong. A reunion of her former foster-care agency is one invitation she would rather ignore.

She agrees to deliver the pies. She has no intention of staying.

Then a former caseworker dies after the reunion dinner, and Erin’s foster brother Paxton becomes the town’s favorite suspect. He argued with the woman just before her death. In Bald Eagle Falls, that’s enough to keep tongues wagging—and customers lingering over their muffins.

Erin remembers what it was like to be a child nobody listened to. She won’t let gossip decide Paxton’s guilt. But asking questions means revisiting memories she has spent years burying, and every conversation gives her another reason to doubt what she thought she knew.

With old grievances surfacing and the community’s suspicion growing, can Erin uncover the truth without putting the life she loves at risk?
