Wood Marie Paule is a productivity researcher and executive coach who has spent more than a decade studying the gap between intention and action. Her work focuses on the overwhelmed professional—the high-performing individual whose knowledge, ambition, and work ethic are undermined by chronic procrastination patterns that no conventional productivity advice has been able to fix.
After earning a degree in organizational psychology from the University of Paris, Wood Marie Paule spent eight years as a management consultant, where she observed firsthand that the professionals who struggled most with procrastination were not the least capable but the most burdened. They were drowning in competing priorities, perfectionist standards, and a culture that rewarded busyness over meaningful output. This observation led her to develop the Anti-Procrastination System, a practical framework that integrates cognitive behavioral techniques, habit science, and energy management into a sustainable system for knowledge workers.
She is the founder of the Focus Practice Institute, a coaching organization that works with corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and creative professionals to build personalized productivity systems. Her approach is distinguished by its rejection of shame-based motivation and its insistence that the right system must fit the individual, not the other way around. She has delivered keynote addresses and workshops for organizations including the European Association of Work and Organizational Psychology, Microsoft France, and the French Institute of Management.
Wood Marie Paule lives in Lyon, France, where she writes, coaches, and maintains a rigorous resistance to inbox notification badges. She is currently working on her next book, which explores the relationship between decision fatigue and creative output in knowledge workers.
