The annual showdown between the University of Georgia Bulldogs and the University of Florida Gators, played in Jacksonville, has landed on October 30th. And the neighboring City of Starling will get the spillover of drunken, and sometimes disgruntled, fans.
Great for Starling’s hotels and restaurants, but it has Chief of Police Judith Anderson nervous, especially combined with trick-or-treaters and Halloween party-goers. Her anxiety proves warranted when a local teen, a UF player, is beaten nearly to death by three guys in Bulldog masks.
As she and her force investigate, the case begins to resemble an onion, each layer revealing a different motive. But the ultimate motive is darker than she could have imagined...even on Halloween.
