About this ebook

The FBI desperately needs Ilse's help to catch the "Alphabet Killer"—an unhinged serial killer who seems to be arranging his victims' bodies in the shapes of letters. Is he spelling a word? Or hinting at who will be next?

In this bestselling mystery series, FBI Special Agent Ilse Beck, victim of a traumatic childhood in Germany, moved to the U.S. to become a renowned psychologist specializing in PTSD, and the world's leading expert in the unique trauma of serial-killer survivors. By studying the psychology of their survivors, Ilse has a unique and unparalleled expertise in the true psychology of serial killers. Ilse never expected, though, to become an FBI agent herself.

Ilse, plagued by her own past, realizes the time has come to face her demons and revisit the site of her childhood home in Germany. But will the trip help her expunge her own dark memories—or push her over the edge?

But in a frantic race against time, the FBI needs her to decode the Alphabet Killer. Is there a method to his madness, a way to stop the next victim before it's too late?

Or is this killer far more cunning and deranged than anyone could imagine?

A dark and suspenseful crime thriller, the bestselling ILSE BECK series is a breathtaking page-turner, an unputdownable mystery and suspense novel. A compelling and perplexing psychological thriller, rife with twists and jaw-dropping secrets, it will make you fall in love with a brilliant new female protagonist, while it keeps you shocked late into the night.

I was looking for a short easy read because the end of the month was nearing and I needed to finish a book before the month end. And since I had to finish reviewing this book I decided to read it. I went into the book not expecting much but it completely exceeded my expectations!! I felt the tension and suspense and I was gripping my seat throughout most of the book. Ava Strong added in a few parts with Tom's friend (I think his name was Rudiger) where I couldn't hold in my laughter, those parts really helped with all the tension I felt throughout the rest of the book. Most of the time with book series I read the 1st or the 2nd book and don't continue because I feel like the rest of the books in the series aren't as good as the first of second one...but in this case I am really excited to continue the series and see what other mysteries Ilse Beck solves. Pick this one up if you are looking for a quick, short read that will keep you in suspense but at the same time make you laugh a bit.

Not Like He Seemed Great Psychological Mystery A mystery dealing with PTSD and a serial killer who uses the alphabet in his/her strange killings. I like how the FBI Agents story is told as part of the story line, shows the characters were well thought out. The action and plot twists are gripping right to the end, a great crime thriller. I look forward to the next book in the series.

I enjoyed this book. Primarily an FBI Agent Series book much like Blake Pierce writes. The main character Isle Beck is working to catch a serial killer known as the “Alphabet Killer” because of the way he positions the bodies of his victims. She has studied the survivors of killers which provides an interesting perspective. Isle herself deals with PTSD and she is a well-developed character. She has to deal with her own childhood in Germany and accept the consequences of her decision to face her past. There were many grammatical issues with this book which did detract from the flow. Because of that, am giving this 4 stars. **I received this book in exchange for an honest review. **
