About this ebook

The highly anticipated prequel to the New York Times bestselling Cirque Du Freak series!
Before Cirque Du Freak...
Before the war with the vampaneze...
Before he was a vampire.
Larten Crepsley was a boy.
As a child laborer many centuries ago, Larten Crepsley did his job well and without complaint, until the day the foreman killed his brother as an example to the other children.
In that moment, young Larten flies into a rage that the foreman wouldn't survive. Forced on the run, he sleeps in crypts and eats cobwebs to get by. And when a vampire named Seba offers him protection and training as a vampire's assistant, Larten takes it.
This is his story.

I must say,it was a most enjoyable book. Birth of a Killer proves to be entertaining and very informative at the same time. It gives us a look at what Larten was like before becoming Darren's master, the people he meets, how he gets to know and love his master(it's a slow process) and how he matures to become one of the greatest vampires in Darren Shan's Saga. The ending was also really suspenseful. Sad to say, comparing how Darren Shan Saga was spread into 12 books,Birth of a Killer seems rushed. If only the Author would take it more slowly, then it'd be perfect.

The reading is easy. But I'm still in love. I read it back in highschool and had no problems buying it to read it again. It's a good series. Not as good as the Demonata series (another Darren Sham series) ((book 2 the demon thief is the best)) but not much is. I'd recommend it

As an outrageous fan of CDF and past Crepsley fangirl, I really enjoyed how Darren Shan set up Crepsley's early life. Even though it's only book one, it already made the CDF books so much more exciting! Must read for any fan!
