Hands down one of my favorite books in this series. (Besides The Long Patrol) the themes, settings, and elements are profoundly woven. As the story grows Brian Jacques just got better and better! The introduction of a flesh eater and absolute menace turned this series on its head! You will laugh, you will cry, you will be frustrated so much that you want to jump into the book! One thing is for sure, you will not be able to stop reading (or listening) until it's over, then you'll do it again!

One of the BEST Redwall books!! I love the focus on the squirrels who are usually kind of overlooked. The Scottish theme and the funny songs are great!! Another well- written story by Brian Jacques 🙂📖❤️👍!

Brian Jacques was both a master storyteller and a jack-of-all-trades. He lived the life of a sailor, actor, stand-up comedian, radio host, bobby, even a bus driver. He was the recipient of an honorary doctorate in literature from the University of Liverpool and a New York Times bestselling author of more than twenty-five books for younger readers, including the wildly popular Redwall series.
