What I liked: -Quick read with lots of action. -Fated alien mate. -Protective but vulnerable hero, resilient and quick thinking heroine. -An interesting world and a variety of aliens. What could have been better: -The ending. This is a short Read as an intro to a new series. The story's ending helps to set up that series. I get it, but I felt it took the focus away a bit from the MCs and the HEA. Overall a fun, light read that did make me want to follow the series.

This book introduces you to the planet Kalumbu and the Trials. Not a tourist place that's for sure !!! Penny is a smart one. She is small so she can fit in places others can not so she cleans the waste tubes. I liked how she explained the waffle smell. You could picture that big stack of waffles and syrup. Then when Qong smelled her his description was so beautiful. This short read sets the stage for what's to come in this series. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily l

Just as I was beginning to enjoy the story it ended. I am quite curious and intrigued with the smell of waffles. I hope this gets a story of its own. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
