About this ebook

YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME AGAIN…

Although Clan Wolf has defeated the Republic of the Sphere and taken charge of a war-torn Terra, many Terran citizens crushed beneath the ilClan’s oppressive rule take matters into their own hands and strike back.

Tara Campbell, former Countess of Northwind and now a member of Clan Jade Falcon, attempts to curb the worst of her Clan’s violent tendencies. Although weary of decades of conflict, she agrees to lead an ad-hoc unit to hunt down Republic partisans and convince them to lay down their arms.

But those desperate to keep the Republic’s guttering flame alive have no wish to surrender to the Clans. In the North American city of Chicago, Republic veterans Adam Ingersoll and his sister, Aleska, have returned home after the brutal war against Clans Wolf and Jade Falcon. Though Aleska immerses herself in grad school, Adam joins an insurgency cell that finds itself in the crosshairs of Tara’s mission to quell unrest on Terra.

Caught between Tara and her brother’s compatriots—two sides of this ongoing conflict she’s desperate to leave in the past—Aleska must save her brother as war once again comes for the Ingersoll family. And caught between her duty and a dying dream, Tara must find a path to peace…or be consumed in the fires of combat forever…

YOU CAN NEVER GO HOME AGAIN… Although Clan Wolf has defeated the Republic of the Sphere and taken charge of a war-torn Terra, many Terran citizens crushed beneath the ilClan’s oppressive rule take matters into their own hands and strike back. Tara Campbell, former Countess of Northwind and now ...

so far at page 136 the story is dragging very slow I mean it gives subtle hints at something coming but so far no good I've been reading BattleTech since I was 16 and now I am 56 and I hate to say it but a lot of the new writers are big disappointments especially when they're pushing a woke agenda down our throats I would much rather read about battle Mech fighting and the great houses and the Clans instead of having to read about two women making love and garbage like that I mean BattleTech has changed and not for the good especially with writers like Brian Young you can tell these guys are trying to bring their agendas into BattleTech and it really doesn't work not if you're trying to tell BattleTech stories at least not in my opinion another thing so far I'm more than halfway through the book and there's more crying in the book than there is actual battle Mech fights what's going on here

Not just a great BT Novel, but a good book generally. The author is fantastic at weaving background and history into the narrative in a way that is unobtrusive, but instead, does an enjoyable job of world building that manages to sync to the flow of the story without slowing the pacing. There are also several introductions for new characters and relationships/dynamics that I hope will be pursued, all in a pleasantly upbeat and optimistic general vibe, making for a setting and factions that are more interesting, nuanced and relatable. Against the backdrop of the coming storm, all of this really helps to build on, and push forward, the new era, beyond what could have been a haphazard mashup of the same old stories. I'm hopeful we're entering into the new era with more than just a flash in the pan IlClan, but a vibrant, variegated macro faction, that itself contains multitudes. I have been enjoying the new era so far, but if we get more of THIS, then we're truly cooking.
