The Mystics

Having spent seven years in servitude under his uncle Andrew in hopes of inheriting the family fortune, John Henderson is crushed to discover at his uncle's death that the money has been left to an esoteric sect called the Mystics, of which Andrew was a leader. Setting out in anger to destroy the sacred book his uncle had guarded, John reads that the Mystics are awaiting a prophesied Prophet, and the signs by which the Prophet may be known are revealed in the pages he holds. A new plan takes shape in John's mind, by which he can both have revenge on his uncle and gain access to the lost fortune.
