Delightful! An English major fighting in the Peninsular Campaign falls in love with a Spanish widow. They marry the day before a major battle occurs. She heads out to get a nearby company for backup, is kidnapped, then injured, but escapes. His company is destroyed and he is injured, then sent home. Each believes the other dead. They meet in England and have to untangle years of confusion, misunderstandings, and thoughts of betrayal before they can come to an HEA. Achingly tender, giddily joyful, and recklessly emotional. Get it!
