About this ebook

Merlin has been missing for over a thousand years. Now the search for him could cost Tom everything.

Tom has chosen the Otherworld. With King Arthur newly awakened and his cousin Beansprout by his side, life in this world of ancient magic, shape-shifters, and fey royalty is everything he hoped it would be. Then Vivian intervenes.

Nimue, powerful witch and priestess of Avalon, has vanished on a secret quest. Vivian needs Arthur to find her. Arthur needs no persuasion. He's already convinced Nimue is searching for the one person he lost and never stopped mourning: Merlin.

The trail leads to Holloways Meet, but what they discover there makes no sense. Nimue isn't lost. She's hiding something, and she's far more dangerous than anyone anticipated.

To find Merlin, they must cross the Blind Moor, navigate the treacherous politics of Dragon's Hollow, and face dragons, a dragon sorcerer, and the enigmatic sylphs, spirits of the air who answer to no one. And Tom must decide how far he'll follow Arthur into danger before the new life he loves is lost for good.

Myth runs deep, magic runs wild, and old loyalties cut both ways in this gripping second instalment of the Rise of the King series.

For fans of Rick Riordan, Kevin Crossley-Holland, and T.A. Barron.

🕸️🕸️ONE ADVENTUROUS THRILL🕸️🕸️ Incredible! Green brought out the big guns with this skillfully spun debacle, weaving a cocoon so intricately and precise, drawing us deeper into this tangled web, until nothing else exists, keeping you riveted on a razors edge and frozen to your seat, launching this jewel to a whole new level. Throw in arduous trials and challenging triumphs, traversing the dramatic twists and hairpin turns, hooking you from the start and reeling you in for the duration, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. Anarchy, mayhem and chaos rule the roost, broken boundaries and dissolved limitations are amplified and exploited, showcasing the crazy quirks and defying bents, reaching deep for every ounce of strength in a fierce surge of determination, bursting this baby to life brilliantly. The characters, banter, dialogue, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits, blend and flow, adding depth and diversity, transforming into outstanding personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and graphic descriptions creating an elaborate backdrop that feels as though you were transported to ground zero with them. Remarkable job Green, thanks for sharing this amazing thrill with us.

About the author

I write books about magic, mystery, myths and legends, and they're action packed!

My adult urban fantasy series is called White Haven Witches. There’s lots of magic, action, and a little bit of romance. I’ve also written a spin-off called White Haven Hunters.

My YA series, Rise of the King (previously called Tom's Arthurian Legacy), is about a teen called Tom and his discovery that he is a descendant of King Arthur. It's a fun-filled clean read with a new twist on the Arthurian tales.

I've got loads of ideas for future books in both series, including spin-offs, novellas and short-stories, so if you'd like to be kept up to date, subscribe to my newsletter. You'll get free short stories, free character sheets, and other fun stuff. Interested? Subscribe at tjgreen.nz

When I'm not writing -

I was born in England, in the Black Country, but moved to New Zealand 14 years ago. England's great, but I'm over the traffic! I now live near Wellington with my partner Jase and my cats Sacha and Leia. When I'm not busy writing I read lots, indulge in gardening and shopping, and I love yoga.

Confession time! I'm a Star Trek geek - old and new - and love urban fantasy and detective shows. Secret passion - Columbo! Favourite Star Trek film is the Wrath of Khan, the original! Other top films - Predator, the original, and Aliens.

In a previous life I was a singer in a band, and used to do some acting with a theatre company. On occasions a few of my friends and I make short films, which begs the question, where are the book trailers? I'm thinking on it ...
