About this ebook

The Former Marine Corp Corporal continues to fight for what his heart desires.
After tragically losing the love of his life in war, Connor McIntyre swore off relationships. That is, until retired Army Sergeant Jamel Jones walked into his life and changed his world forever. Now Connor is the most content he's ever been. The passion between the two military men is steamy, their bond is unbreakable, and Connor knows for sure that Jamel is his happily ever after.
There is only one problem: No one knows. Not his homophobic and racist family, not his small town community, and not even some of the people who are closest to him. With the exception of his best friends Afia and Jack, Connor hasn't told anyone he is gay or that he's deeply in love with an African American man.
As Connor and Jamel take the next steps to begin building their life together, Connor knows it’s time to be honest with everyone about who he is and who he loves ... but how?

This is the second book of this series about Jamel and Connor. Here they are progressing even further in their relationship and we see a few years pass of them together. They haven't said "I love you" yet but they say it in the way they look at each other, the way they fulfill each other's love languages, the way they talk to each other and the way they make love. They show it in so many ways and in this book you see how they come to realize that this really does feel like forever.

Oh wow Eskay did not disappoint me after having read book one ' Hidden Love' , this book continous the overall storyline and follows Connor and Jamal during the further development of their relationship, I would have loved to have gotten even more insight into Jamal his feelings and thoughts, but liked that we got more insight into Connor his mind and also the steps he has to take to feel safe to be out especially around his family. I just loved how the author gives both space to Connor and Jamal to get to a stage that works for them. And ofcourse with the support and help of their ' found family' and friends and Jamal his actual family. I also liked that we followtheir friends lives in general as well. I do have to say the book did not end as expected and I am looking for more to see what happens next. I read this book in one go and had to know what happened next. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book has a strong story line and believable characters. It will draw the reader in and demand emotional responses to the people you actually care about. How will this all sort out? There is sadness, pain, and heartbreak. But there is also love, friendship, and family (whether biological or the one you form with those you love). Get ready for that roller coaster of feelings to race you through the ups and downs of Connor and Jamel’s story. It will be worth your time.
