This was another very good entry for this series. I thought the blend of excitement and feels was spot on in this book. I thought Enzo and Gabby were likable and easy to feel for. The story is taut with lots of tension and intensity. Add in a well crafted combination of drama, emotion, action, suspense and danger and you have yourself a read that engages your heart while having you feel like you are right on the edge. This is my frank, freely posted review.

186 pages for $7.00 ? I've paid less for 400+ pages from better authors. reading this series bk I like the continuity.......pretty ballsy pricing

The strange interaction between Enzo and the little boy at the start sets the tone for the whole book – you’re always slightly on edge, waiting, but not sure what you’re waiting for. The story moves at a blistering pace, and this is definitely a single-sitting read. It’s a great revisit to the Colorado Brotherhood Protectors and those characters, a fabulous insight into Enzo and Gabby and Gabby’s own strength, and a terrifying race to rescue Jamie. You can also imagine Jamie’s delight when he hears the truth about Enzo, and one sees that as part of his healing from the trauma. I love books that live on for me – and this one does.

About the author

Elle James was born in Spokane, Washington on Fairchild Air Force Base. She grew up as a military brat moving around quite often from places like Glasgow, Montana, Abilene, Texas and California. She credits her aspiration to her writing partner and sister, Delilah Devlin. She writes the series Dark Lords, Devil's Shroud, amd Covert Cowboys Inc.
