So I'll be the first to say The fictional world of literature lost one of the best when Tom Clancy passed away. I have every single book to date that has ever been published of his. So I'm no stranger to these stories, yet this one went from 600 mph to a dead stop unlike most of his previous titles. Could this have been due to his sudden passing I'm unsure. Its a wonderful fly by the seat of your pants action, clandestine, espionage you'd expect from the Ryan series. But alas the end is uneventful.

Not a bad story but was over simplified would have been a 900 page novel if written by tom with very clear battle descriptions and better over all clarity but having said that I did enjoy reading and like always find myself wanting the next campus/ jack Ryan book.

Pretty good read, with steady build-up, but ending was abrupt. Antagonists seem to die out do easily and quickly.

About the author

A little more than thirty years ago Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a passion for naval history. Years before, he had been an English major at Baltimore’s Loyola College and had always dreamed of writing a novel. His first effort, The Hunt for Red October—the first of the phenomenally successful Jack Ryan novels—sold briskly as a result of rave reviews, then catapulted onto the New York Times bestseller list after President Reagan pronounced it “the perfect yarn.” From that day forward, Clancy established himself as an undisputed master at blending exceptional realism and authenticity, intricate plotting, and razor-sharp suspense. He passed away in October 2013.
