A cozy murder mystery novel. An easy and entertaining read about a woman who tries to escape her past and start a new life in a small town and a cop close to retirement and wants to pursue her love of painting full time. The two MCs are not romantically involved since one is already in an established relationship while the other is potentially interested in another. There's a bit of drama suspense romance and action but nothing overly stressful for cozy lovers. The story takes place in a small town where everyone knows everyone and gossip mongering is the usual activity around town.
