Green Lantern: Secret Origin (New Edition)

This fantastic run on Green Lantern gave me a really deep origin story of Hal, his father and the traumatic experience of losing him, the complicated relationship with the rest of his family and his dream of being a pilot just like his dad. As for becoming the green lantern, I loved how this book balanced his first time getting the ring from Abin Sur, his training with Kilowog and his mentor-mentee relationship with Sinestro, the mystery behind Abin Sur's death, and the arrival of Atrocitus and the blackest knight prophecy. My favourite part was Hal realising that the guardians are afraid of the lanterns with how the walls in their base on Oa are yellow because it showed Hal's innovative thinking and a detective-esque aspect of him I never expected. Overall, the book was a fun, entertaining and well-established first introduction and origin story of Hal for modern comic book readers.

After reading this comic, I suddenly love Green Lantern and want to continue reading more of its story. The last page of the comic is a cliffhanger. There's more story waiting for us new Green Lantern fan. I hope I could dig more deeper into the Green Lantern story and mythos. Beware of my power, Green Lantern light! Thanks, that's all!
