THE INSTANT #1 BESTSELLER!
FEATURED ON 60 MINUTES and FRESH AIR

“So surprising and moving and true that I became completely unstrung.” – The New York Times

Named a best book of the year by: The New York Times, NPR, TIME, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, Entertainment Weekly, Southern Living, Publishers Weekly, BookPage, A.V. Club, Bustle, BuzzFeed, Vulture, and many more!

JOHN GREEN, the acclaimed author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, returns with a story of shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.

Aza Holmes never intended to pursue the disappearance of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there’s a hundred-thousand-dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Pickett’s son Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

Pretty subpar. I knew this was going to be geared towards a teen audience. But this was pretty bad. Story was awful, not much development. Not many twists and turns. Felt like it was written by a 5th grader for their final project. Needless to say, thus will be the last John Green book I'll be picking up.. looks like I'm too old for his work. Bummed as I loved a lot of his earlier work.

John Green gets better the more of himself he puts into the characters. A book that is more introspective than most. Not some great historical work of art but it makes you feel things and gives a new perspective... Which is really the point on fiction.

As someone with anxiety this was a bit of a hard read for me. I related a little too much to Aza's spirals. That said, it is well done and I always enjoy reading about my hometown. It wasn't quite as captivating as TFiOS or LfA but definitely enjoyable.
