About this ebook

A Goodreads Top 20 Book of the Last 5 Years
Don’t miss the #1 New York Times bestselling blockbuster and Reese Witherspoon Book Club Pick that’s sold over 5 million copies—now streaming on Apple TV+ starring Jennifer Garner!

The “page-turning, exhilarating” (PopSugar) and “heartfelt thriller” (Real Simple) about a woman who thinks she’s found the love of her life—until he disappears.

Before Owen Michaels disappears, he smuggles a note to his beloved wife of one year: Protect her. Despite her confusion and fear, Hannah Hall knows exactly to whom the note refers—Owen’s sixteen-year-old daughter, Bailey. Bailey, who lost her mother tragically as a child. Bailey, who wants absolutely nothing to do with her new stepmother.

As Hannah’s increasingly desperate calls to Owen go unanswered, as the FBI arrests Owen’s boss, as a US marshal and federal agents arrive at her Sausalito home unannounced, Hannah quickly realizes her husband isn’t who he said he was. And that Bailey just may hold the key to figuring out Owen’s true identity—and why he really disappeared.

Hannah and Bailey set out to discover the truth. But as they start putting together the pieces of Owen’s past, they soon realize they’re also building a new future—one neither of them could have anticipated.

With its breakneck pacing, dizzying plot twists, and evocative family drama, The Last Thing He Told Me is a “page-turning, exhilarating, and unforgettable” (PopSugar) suspense novel.

Hard read. I love thrillers and this was not that. Maybe mystery or family drama. The note from dad made no sense. If he wanted to protect his daughter he would have left real details. Expecting Hannah to uncover everything was unrealistic. The memory recovery from a four year old felt outlandish. The plot kept getting crazier. The ending disappointed me and the final lines were cringey. I almost DNFed it.

THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME, #1 - What an interesting story with intriguing story lines, interesting characters, and a fast pace. I didn't put this paperback down until I finished the last page. Hannah is a very likeable character, along with her best friend, and I like the writing style of the author. No stupidity and not a thriller, just as well written, immersing story. Source: MARYSUE RUCCI BOOKS (Simon & Schuster, Inc.). Special thanks to Elina Vaysbeyn for the paperback. 4*

This is a well crafted narrative. By gradually unraveling the characters' back stories, our author keeps the suspense high. By the end, we have a better idea of the circumstances and a desire to follow our protagonists in a follow up novel.
