Picture Him Dead: A Novel

A new year. A new vision. A murder, manifested.

Four years ago, Gail Duke's life was shattered by her ex-boyfriend, Lucas Green. His betrayal cost her almost everything, including her relationship with her son, Herbie. Now, on the cusp of a new year, Gail creates a vision board filled with images of a better future, and one dark fantasy she never expects to come true – Lucas dead. But when Lucas is granted early release from prison, the fragile stability Gail has constructed unravels.

Then Lucas is found murdered, just like the picture on Gail's vision board. And immediately, suspicion gathers around her and her son. Unwilling to let anything happen to Herbie, Gail decides to protect him from harm – no matter the cost.

But Herbie may be more connected to Lucas than anyone realizes, and as competing narratives of guilt, protection, and obsession collide, mother and son must navigate a tightening psychological trap, one where the cost of manifesting a new life is more real than either of them could ever imagine.
