About this ebook

In the vein of Justin Cronin and Guillermo del Toro, this terrifying apocalyptic horror novel imagines a world where every child dies—then returns hungry for blood, forcing their parents to make impossible, devastating choices.

It begins on an ordinary day: children around the world are dying. All children, everywhere—a global crisis beyond any parent’s worst nightmare. Then, a miracle beyond imagining: three days later, they return. Shattered mothers and fathers see their sons and daughters happy and whole once more, playing and laughing as before—but only when they feed. They hunger for blood…and they can’t get enough upon which to feast. Without it, they die again.

How far would you go to keep someone you love alive?

This novel helped affirm my decision to remain child-free. It goes through the horrors of parenthood, yes, but what struck me the most was the grief of losing one's children and then dealing with the ethical and moral decisions of reanimating them. This novel was a quick and easy read, though clichéd and predictable. 2.5/5

Having chosen this book for its great reviews, I was certainly not disappointed. I picked it up and could not put it down. The plot is both very creepy and very well written. I won't ruin the book with spoilers, but I will give a glowing recommendation, Suffer The Children is a must read.

This story was so intense. Definitely not for you if you are squeamish. Bleak, dark, and ddeply emotional. Telling the story from switching points of view makes that final chapter all the more haunting.
