I enjoy Echo's story very much. In a lot of trilogies or series, I often find the second one lacking. The romance and even the tension was basically non existent between main two character, though it was nice to see it elsewhere. A lot of things kept HAPPENING in this one, and not much story between characters. I get this was the 'finding yourself' part of her journey, but I miss Echo's confidence and the intimacy of the first story. Sad to wait a whole year for the third book!

Melissa Grey was born and raised in New York City. She wrote her first short story at the age of twelve and hasn't stopped writing since. After earning a degree in fine arts at Yale University, she embarked on an adventure of global proportions and discovered a secret talent for navigating subway systems in just about any language. She works as a freelance journalist in New York City. The Shadow Hour is her second novel, and the sequel to her first, The Girl at Midnight.
